Ifer is a woodturner and sculptor based in Maine, working at the intersection of traditional craft and contemporary art.

Ifer works almost exclusively with local, storm-salvaged hardwoods, transforming fallen timber into permanent, contemplative forms. Rather than working against the organic nature of the wood, Ifer strives to collaborate with it.

Ifer's current work represents a shift from the symmetry and uniformity of functional turning toward larger-scale, more expressive sculpture. Ifer is fascinated by the stories told through natural imperfections—cracks, spalting, and erosion. Ultimately, Ifer's goal is to reveal the hidden beauty within the wood, creating distinct sculptural pieces that honor the raw resilience of the natural world.
